Historical Uses of Abjad
Islamic scholars used Abjad values to encode dates in poetry (called Tarikh or chronogram), interpret prophecies, and analyze names. It was also used in Sufi traditions and manuscript dating. The system predates Islam and was inherited from earlier Semitic traditions.
Note: Abjad numerology is a scholarly tradition and area of debate — it should not be used for superstitious purposes or to make major life decisions. Consult a qualified scholar regarding its Islamic permissibility in specific contexts.
